Scaffolding Tools

Before starting a scaffolding project, the worker needs to ensure they have the proper tools in order to accomplish the job safely and effectively. Below are some of the tools required;

Hammer

A hammer is required to drive the pins and other components into place. It is important to find the right balance between a strong hammer, and a hammer that is light enough to carry around all day.

Level

The scaffolding needs to be level, and the best way to ensure it is level is by using a level. There are many levels on the market, including digital and bubble (called Spirit Level). The important thing is to ensure that the level works, and that your scaffolding can be installed properly.

Measuring Tape

A measuring tape will be used for various reasons. It will measure distances between planks, distances between buildings, and the length of a plank of wood that needs to be cut. The measuring tape must be easy to use, and must not jam.

Ratchet and Socket Set

A ratchet is needed to tighten and loosen couplers, but there are also many other requirements that the scaffolding ratchet needs to meet. It needs to be able to reach around other parts, and work in tight spaces.

A socket set is also required. Not all scaffold components follow a standard size, so it is important to have a socket set to be able to work with the different sizes. It is advisable to have both a metric and imperial set.

Toolbelt

The items above are important to have, but they need to be carried everywhere. A toolbelt is also an important tool because it will ensure that the workers have their tools when they need them. The toolbelt needs to be comfortable to wear, and also needs to allow the workers to take and put back their tools with ease.
